Our Story
Cheryl and Diego were introduced by Best Man Rolando in December 2010 at a friend's birthday party at Infusion Lounge in downtown San Francisco. For years they belonged to the same circle of friends--having gone to many social events, camping trips, Tahoe trips, and happy hours together. However, Cheryl and Diego never hung out alone so even though they knew each other they didn't really know know each other.
After Diego lost a bet to Cheryl in 2013 he pinky promised to teach her how to drive stick shift in his truck. They began hanging out alone and over time Cheryl learned Diego was really trustworthy and fun to be around. Diego was drawn to Cheryl's bubbly personality and sense of humor. On August 29, 2013 they had their official first date at the Academy of Sciences nightlife.
Seven years later on August 29, 2020 Diego planned a tea party picnic in Golden Gate Park for their anniversary. He proposed to Cheryl outside the Academy of Sciences (it was closed due to the coronavirus pandemic) and she said yes.
